Samuels Solicitors in Devon Greets 2016
Elayne Clarke
2015 was an excellent year for Samuels Solicitors, based in North Devon and we are very much looking forward to helping clients further in 2016.
We have continued to serve clients throughout Devon, Cornwall and the wider South West, as well as significantly expanding our litigation client base throughout the UK.
As expected, our litigation department has gone from strength to strength. Our continued focus on helping clients bring professional negligence claims against solicitors and other professionals who have let them down remains the core of our business.
Other litigation areas have also been busy - we have helped many clients with disputes about wills, boundary disputes, commercial litigation, and debt recovery.
An area which continues to grow is defamation, particularly in relation to platfors such as Facebook, Twitter, Tripadvisor and online blogs. We believe we are the only firm in the South West with a particular specialism in this area.
We remain committed to helping our clients obtain access to justice, in a climate where this is becoming more and more difficult. Our flexible funding arrangements are popular with clients, and our conditional (no win no fee) arrangements continue to be extremely popular, particularly for defamation matters.
Our private client department has also had a great year. We have drafted many wills and powers of attorney for our clients, and have helped loved-ones through the probate process at the most difficult time of their lives. Our private client department continue to offer excellent tax planning advice in conjunction with these services.
Our private client experts will review any existing will for free - whether you have had it dran up by another solicitor, an accountant, or have prepared it yourself.
Our property department has had a great year, despite the countrywide economic problems, and continues to offer exceptional residential conveyancing services. At Samuels, we continue to resist the temptation to buy in clients by offering financial incentives in return for referrals from estate agents (which ultimately are passed on to clients). Our fixed fees have absolutely no hidden extras.
