Newly Qualified Solicitor at Samuels

Samuels Solicitors is very pleased to announce that Elle Quinlan qualified as a solicitor on 1 November 2019.

After she finished her A-levels, Elle joined our firm as an office assistant in March 2014, helping out on reception and making teas and coffees for clients. Her qualities were quickly recognised, and she started working in a secretarial role not long afterwards.

Whilst working as a secretary, Elle started studying for her law degree with the Open University. She worked her socks off, and was awarded a first class honours degree in July 2017.

Supported by the firm, in July 2019 Elle gained a distinction in the Legal Practice Course from the University of Law in Bristol and because she has worked continually and gained valuable experience throughout this time, she was admitted to the roll of solicitors on 1 November 2019.  

As if all of that wasn’t enough, Elle also became a mum for the first time a year ago!

Elle is currently working in property, but after she is qualified, she will ultimately specialise in case involving commercial law, professional negligence & inheritance disputes.

Jan Samuel, senior partner at Samuels Solicitors in Barnstaple, has mentored Elle throughout. Jan and the other partners are incredibly proud of Elle and her achievements. Jan says: “What Elle has achieved in such a short time is incredibly impressive. It’s testament to how hard she works, and her natural talent for the law. She will make a really excellent solicitor”.

Elle says: “I am so lucky to have been supported and mentored by my colleagues at Samuels over the last few years, and I can’t wait to be able to call myself a solicitor at the end of this week. It’s been hard work, but it’s worth it!”  

The partners at Samuels are committed to providing in-house training and support for any of our staff who have the desire to progress their careers and we already have another member of our secretarial staff studying for a law degree, and several others undertaking various qualifications.
